FERAL CAT SHELTER WORKSHOP
We are pleased to offer a feral cat shelter workshop, taking place January 8 at the Pinewood address above, from 2 PM to ??.
RSVP to kittyfixers@hotmail.com
Come to the Shelter Building Workshop with supplies and leave with a shelter, or just come to help. We know of many colonies with no shelter, so we need lots of supplies and people to help build. There will be additional shelters available if anyone needs them. This will be a large workshop, and there will be plenty of shelters to give away to needy feral kitty colonies. Even if you do not need shelters yourself, please come out and help build, network, or just have fun. We are also looking for people to become shelter banks to store extra shelters until people call needing them.
Optional supplies but desperately needed:
Nashua aluminum foil multipurpose tape - Found at Lowes/Home Depot in the dryer, duct work department ($7)
Industrial strength velcro
Large styrofoam cooler boxes - Just like fish shipment boxes or used for medicines to be shipped to hospitals. Check with your large chain pet shops, grocery stores, veterinary hospitals and human hospitals.
In lieu of Styrofoam coolers, heavy duty plastic storage tubs: two heavy duty storage bins that fit inside of each other with plenty of room for insulation between the two (on all sides and the top). Smaller of the two should be at least an 18 gallon. Outer container preferably should be Rubbermaid – won’t crack in cold weather
Reflectix mylar insulation and straw will be provided.
We will supply tools and snacks. Don't forget to register!
People wanting to build shelters must bring supplies. Come to network, build your own shelter or to help build shelters for lots of cold kitties.
LOOKING FOR DOG HOUSES
We are looking for dog houses (any size) to pass out to dogs with no winter shelter. They will be repaired (if needed),
insulated, filled with straw and delivered to needy dogs in the metro Detroit area. Free is best, but we might be able to
pay a small fee if necessary. THESE DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE!! Receipt of gift is available
ADOPTION SHOWS at PETCO every Saturday, Maple and Coolidge in Troy, 11 AM to 2:30 pm.
We offer:

Adoptable Cats and Kittens
Kitty Fixers is unable to relocate feral cats, and we are not accepting any cats into our foster program at this time.
Kitty Fixers is always looking for farms willing to take in feral or semi-feral cats. These cats
are living in local colonies, some with little or no shelter and fighting for every meal.
These cats are healthy, medically up-to-date and make wonderful "mousers" and desparately need to be relocated out of the city.
If you have room in you heart and your barn, please help. Farms must have adequate shelter and provide
food and water. Rescue volunteers will relocate and set up those cats.
Even if you can only help one cat, think of the difference you will make to that one.
Kitty Fixers also helps out
with several feral cat colonies. Kitty Fixers operates on a not-for-profit donation basis and
receives no public funding. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
All donations go directly to our mission of helping homeless cats.
Please see our wish list below. If you have a food or shelter donation, please
contact us for pick-up.
In 2009, Kitty Fixers was responsible for spaying and neutering over 300 cats and kittens.

Adopting a friend
We strive to match the right pet with the right
family. The process is as follows: FIRST, an adoption application will need to
be completed. As part of this process, a vet check will be done to make sure all
current pets are up-to-date on all shots and preventatives. SECOND, if the
application is approved, we will review with you and provide a copy of the medical
background for the animal. LASTLY, you will be required to sign an adoption
contract. The adoption fee includes
spay/neuter, combo-testing, vaccinations and deworming. PLEASE NOTE: Animals are NOT adopted on a "first come/first
serve" basis. We try to match each animal with the right family based on each
animal's particular personality. Adoption prices are as follows: One adoption:
$70.00 Two adoptions done at the same time: $110.00
